The mosaics in this category reflect the work of much younger children, generally from the nursery and early year’s units. Because they have more fertile imaginations and a more organic and fluid approach to making art, it is harder to set specific topics. We run these art sessions much more informally and children can dip in and out as they choose. The resulting mosaics are always quirky and free - young children are very clear about their choices and decisions and although filled with invention, the work is thoughtful and considered. The opportunity for talking while drawing is a real benefit because, for young children, thinking and drawing are intertwined.
